For 10 years, I designed and wrote copy for labels, hangtags, neckbands and shipping boxes for Golding Farms Foods, a condiment manufacturer in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I also designed brand logos, designed and wrote sales collateral materials and presentations, photographed products, and designed and wrote the company web site.
Food Packaging and Retailing
After designing a logo and stationery for Chicago-based start-up Wild Blue Waters, a wholesaler of wild-caught seafood, I designed pouches and cartons, brand logos, shipping boxes and labels for the company’s product lines. I wrote the copy on all the packages, too, in a collaboration that lasted two and a half years.
I wrote copy for and designed crouton boxes and trade show materials for Ultimate Foods of Westwood, Massachusetts.
I wrote multiple feature articles on grocery retailing for Phoenix Media Network trade magazines, Produce Business and Deli Business in 2004-2005. More recently, I accepted three feature assignments for the February and March 2021 issues of Produce Business.
I designed brand logos, labels, shipping boxes and a product brochure for Joyce Foods, Inc., a Winston-Salem, North Carolina-based poultry processor and wholesaler.
I designed a logo and labels for Riviera Gourmet Foods’ new line of salad dressings.
I designed a logo and label for Bull Mountain Barbecue Sauce, made in Eagle Point, Oregon.
I developed a logo and label to help Cliff McGinnis bring his barbecue and steak sauce to market.
I wrote copy for Tahiti Springs Natural Spring Water labels.
I designed a logo, stationery and labels for The Chocolate Pasta Company, a start-up dedicated to developing and marketing a chocolate-flavored dessert pasta.
