Health Care

From April 1988 to October 1992, I provided marketing communications consulting and creative services for Lexington Memorial Hospital, including writing, graphic design and photography, focus group research, annual reports, marketing plans, a business community newsletter, brochures and news and feature releases. I also conducted staff workshops in writing and marketing.

As part of an ongoing relationship with Lexington Memorial Hospital, I wrote a brochure to introduce the hospital’s new home care agency, Piedmont Home Care, to the community.

I helped Piedmont HomeHealth promote their services by designing a logo and writing and designing two brochures—one to promote nursing services and the other to describe the Bath Plus program to assist with the tasks of daily living.

For six months in 2010, I worked with Yadkin Valley Community Hospital administrators and department heads to develop public relations strategies and materials, including a feature release and advertorial and text for a series of services brochures.

I helped the North Carolina Hospital Association introduce and promote The Leaders Forum Video Collection, a training series for hospital trustees. I also wrote and designed a brochure for a group purchasing subsidiary, North Carolina Hospital Enterprises.

I created a direct mail package, including a brochure, flyer and targeted sales letters, to introduce a new hospitalist service to the medical community in Lafayette, Louisiana.

I designed logos and wrote and designed flyers, a print ad and a pocket folder to help Baron Vision Center in Decatur, Indiana, promote its services and introduce its Optical Plus brand.

I designed a logo and wrote and designed a brochure and flyer to introduce Direct Vision Benefit, a member benefit program offered by Davis Eye Care, based in Athens, Alabama. I also designed print ads to promote the practice.

For four years, I wrote feature articles for Bull’s Eye Publishing’s regional “Health Care Buyer” trade magazines for employee benefits managers.

I designed a series of four product flyers and a matching pocket folder for West Coast Life Sciences, Inc., a Vista, California-based supplier of materials for diagnostic testing kits, pharmaceuticals and research applications.

I helped Columbia Life Rehabilitation, based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, promote their rehabilitation services by writing and designing a promotional flyer.

I wrote and designed a promotional flyer for Primavera Adult Day Health Care Center in Los Angeles, featuring the text in English on one side and a Spanish translation on the reverse side.
